Plot

GATE, a gathering place for the world’s brightest minds, operates a global network of secret research laboratories covering every field of scientific research and even beyond.

As a GATE employee, you will expand the boundaries of human knowledge and seek to explain the unexplainable – including anomalies and supernatural entities: from gravity-bending artifacts to supernatural beings with unstoppable violent instincts. Stability, security, and confidentiality are of paramount importance… generally speaking.

Following a disastrous asylum escape, your workplace has been transformed into a cosmic war zone: deviant entities are on the loose, enemies from other dimensions are invading through portals, and a mysterious military sect – known as “The Order” – indiscriminately attacks staff and alien entities alike, intent on seizing the artifact and putting an end to the chaos.

Containment has failed and help is not on the way. Trapped miles below the surface, you and your fellow scientists must band together, plan your escape, and make this underground complex your (temporary) new home.

Game Mechanics

Abiotic Factor brings 90s sci-fi style and rich character progression to the multiplayer open world survival crafting genre. Up to 6 players can choose their doctor, train their scientist, equip their equipment and explore a massive underground complex filled with supernatural artifacts, interdimensional enemies and twisted scientific experiments.

When science meets violence

With alien menace species searching for their next prey, trigger-happy soldiers, and the world’s most advanced robotic security force attacking personnel overtime, danger is everywhere. As a scientist, combat isn’t your strong suit, so you’ll need to put your PhD to use to outwit your opponents: craft ingenious and somewhat unusual tools, weapons, and gadgets, from simple nets and sticks to laser cannons and elaborate traps – everything your scientific brain can muster!

Maintain a healthy work-life balance

Make this your home away from home – you’ll be living here for the long haul. As you explore, scavenge for resources from vacant offices and labs, loot vending machines, and steal corporate property to build a new base of operations. When it’s time for a change of scenery, pack up all your belongings and move them elsewhere using carts, forklifts, SUVs, teleporters, and more.

Join the research team

Put on your lab coat and work towards your PhD: from plant geneticists to defense analysts and structural engineers (and many more), everyone has their own strengths necessary to survive. Combine individual traits and skills, then level up to gain additional perks and skills alongside your fellow scientists to create a powerful scientific force.
